A group of prints and the book cover from Into the Night Life, first edition, unbound, published in 1947 in Berkeley, California. The collection includes fifty-three unbound pages with serigraph text reproducing an excerpt from Miller's Black Spring, illustrated by Schatz. Accompanying the pages is a signed rice paper serigraph and a blue cloth cover with felt applique. Fewer than 200 copies were initially bound and sold in April 1947. Remaining sheets were stored in Miller's closet, leading to significant damage. In 1971 and 1977, some salvageable sheets were reissued, while others were bound for sale. This collaboration highlights the enduring friendship between Miller and Schatz. The collection exhibits tears, toning, and creases, reflecting the poor storage conditions it endured. Approximately 400 of the original sheets were damaged or destroyed.

Fun Fact: Fewer than 200 copies were initially bound and sold in April 1947. Remaining sheets were stored in Miller's closet in Big Sur, leading to significant damage.
