Neoclassical Style Giltwood Console Table with Carved Foliate Frieze and Marble Top
A finely detailed Neoclassical style giltwood console table distinguished by its sculptural carving and classical proportions. Rooted in the Neoclassical movement of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the design reflects a renewed interest in the symmetry, order, and ornamentation of ancient Greek and Roman architecture. This influence is evident in the table’s balanced composition, architectural framing, and use of classical decorative motifs.
Two Available. Sold Separately.
The rectangular marble top provides a refined, cool contrast to the warmth of the giltwood base. Below, a richly carved frieze features scrolling foliate vines and floral rosettes, bordered by beaded and molded detailing that underscores the piece’s formal structure. The base rises on tapered square supports, ornamented with acanthus-inspired carving and stylized floral elements, terminating in elegantly stepped feet—hallmarks of Neoclassical furniture design.

The giltwood surface retains a softly aged patina, with areas of wear that enhance the depth and legibility of the carving. Surface scratches to the marble are present and consistent with age and use. Two examples are available and offered individually. Equally compelling as a singular decorative statement or used as a symmetrical pair.
