This hand-blown ribbon vase is a striking example of Polish art glass from the historic Krosno region, most likely produced by the celebrated Makora or Józefina glassworks between the 1970s and 1990s. Reflecting a sophisticated Postmodern aesthetic, the piece features an opaque black cased glass body accented by a spiraling white cane swirl that creates a bold, graphic contrast often referred to as a zebra or tuxedo look. The elongated neck and weighted bulbous base are characteristic of the mid-century modern revival style popularized by designers such as Józef Jankowski and Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz. Because each piece is handcrafted, the white banding possesses a distinct tactile quality and organic spacing that highlights its unique studio origins. This unmarked vessel remains in excellent vintage condition with only minor surface wear, standing as a timeless sculptural statement that exemplifies the world-renowned Op Art appeal of Polish glassmaking.
