This sculpture is a sophisticated study in industrial organicism, reimagining the delicate silhouette of wildflowers through a lens of mid-century brutalism. Five torch-cut trumpet blooms, finished in a rich patina of deep crimson and burnt umber, emerge from a cluster of hand-wrought brass foliage with a calculated, linear grace. The composition achieves a striking textural dialogue between the refined, heat-textured petals—complete with visible seam-work that honors the artist’s hand—and the primitive, obsidian-colored volcanic stone base that anchors the piece. Fine, spherical-tipped filaments extend from the throat of each blossom, adding a layer of intricate verticality that softens the rigidity of the metal. While the piece remains in excellent structural condition, its surfaces have developed a distinguished natural patina over time, enhancing the depth of its metallic tones and lending an authentic vintage character to the work. By grounding these ethereal, metallic stems in a raw, porous foundation, the sculpture captures the eternal tension between the permanent and the ephemeral, making it a definitive architectural statement for the modern interior.
