This sculptural vessel is an elegant example of mid-to-late 20th-century Italian artistry, likely produced between the late 1960s and the 1980s. Hand-blown using the iconic Fazzoletto—or handkerchief—technique, the piece features a sophisticated Sommerso construction where a core of deep amethyst is artfully suspended within a thick layer of brilliant clear crystal. The Fazzoletto form is achieved by rapidly spinning molten glass until centrifugal force drapes the edges into the soft, undulating folds of a silk handkerchief, ensuring that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. While the silver foil label identifies it as being crafted according to the technique of the masters—a phrase frequently used by prominent export houses during this era to certify authentic Venetian craftsmanship—its timeless silhouette and rich color palette remain hallmarks of the era's decorative elegance. The bowl is in excellent vintage condition, showing only minor surface scratches to the body and base consistent with its age and history.
