Designed by Architetto Marcello Taddei, often credited as Taddei Sestini, for the distinguished Italian manufactory Kristall Krisla, the piece bridges the world of functional table architecture and modern kinetic art, or Arte Cinetica. Sourced directly for ByCloudia from a private collection in Bologna, Italy, its silhouette transitions seamlessly from a soft circular rim down into a dense, flattened base that reflects Taddei’s signature architectural approach to glass. The vessel’s body features alternating bands of satiny vetro satinato, an acid-etched and sandblasted crystal, contrasted against windows of optically clear, light-refracting lead crystal. This intentional juxtaposition creates a captivating interplay of shadow and illumination when hit by direct light. Crafted in Colle di Val d'Elsa, the historical heart of Italian crystal production, the piece is mouth-blown using heavy twenty-four percent lead crystal.
