This exceptional French brass fireplace screen is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau artistry. The central design features a graceful woman, tambourine in hand, poised in a captivating dance. This figural composition is exquisitely framed by intricately pierced and chased folding fans, their details further enhanced by acanthus and bellflower motifs. A flame urn finial atop a lambs tongue plinth adds a regal touch, while the scrolled acanthus beaded swag base, incorporating a central mythological medallion, completes this harmonious ensemble. Despite a minor imperfection (one slightly bent hook), the screen is in excellent vintage condition, retaining its original allure.
