31 1/2”W x 18”H x15 3/4”D

A refined example of Neoclassical restraint, this early 20th-century French Louis XVI style coffee table balances distinct architectural form with the warmth of lived-in materials. The piece is crowned by a substantial slab of white marble featuring dramatic grey veining and a crisply molded edge profile. The stone remains in pristine condition with a minor scratch offering a cool, bright polished surface that contrasts with the history of the base below. Grounding the piece is a solid mahogany frame defined by clean lines and classic geometry, rising on square-tapered and fluted legs that terminate in original stepped brass sabots. The wood exhibits honest, age-appropriate surface wear and texture, lending the piece a relaxed, historic character that prevents it from feeling too formal. Designed with both stability and practicality in mind, the table is constructed in two parts; the underside of the heavy marble slab features original wooden guide blocks that peg securely into the frame, ensuring a firm fit while allowing for easy disassembly and transport.
