A striking emerald green pair, these Murano vases showcase the famed Sommerso technique—layers of transparent glass submerged one within another to create depth, brilliance, and a jewel-like glow. Each retains its original label and is in excellent vintage condition, a testament to the enduring artistry of Murano glassmaking.
Designed by Flavio Poli, one of Italy’s most celebrated glass artists, whose career defined mid-century Venetian glass, these vases embody the refinement and innovation of Seguso Vetri d’Arte, where Poli served as artistic director beginning in 1934. His pioneering approach to submerged glass brought him international recognition, with works now held in the Murano Glass Museum, MoMA in New York, and the National Gallery of Victoria.
Together they stand as timeless collector’s pieces—sophisticated, luminous, and deeply rooted in the legacy of Murano.
Sold as a pair.
From 1964 to 1966, Poli led the artistic glass division of the Società Venezia di Conterie e Cristallerie.
