A whimsical taxidermy zebra mounted on a traditional carved wooden rocker. She sits perfectly in any situation! Burchell zebra, Equus quagga burchellii. In good vintage condition. Some bare areas retouched by professional taxidermist in Austin, TX.
Charlotte wears an antique French 19th century santos jeweled crown. A beautiful, precious antique Holy Mary crown coming from a nun's convent in Normandy. The crown would have been used to adorn a Virgin Mary statue at a religious procession. Made of repoussé ormolu and clear rhinestones. Decorated with cut rhinestones alternating with lily flowers, the symbol of innocence. A beautiful ornate flower garland finishes the look for Charlotte.
Andre Robolobavich is a contemporary taxidermy artist producing unconventional and sometimes comical taxidermy artworks. He studied the technique of taxidermy under the guidance of Simon 'the stuffa' Wilson of Bovingdon. Simon Wilson produced the now famous taxidermy 'Floating Giraffe' at Aynhoe Park. Robolobavich and Simon Wilson source animals that have died from natural causes from zoos and farms for their creations.
