This early 20th-century French Art Nouveau vase is a prime example of Barbotine majolica earthenware. The piece showcases the majolica technique with its distinctive opaque glazes and vibrant colors, further enhanced by the Barbotine method of applying liquid clay (slip) to create raised, three-dimensional designs. This combination yields a rich, tactile surface with remarkable depth.

The vase features an elegant silhouette: a flared, petal-formed rim flows into an elongated neck, accented by dual, sinuous scroll handles. The body is generously globular, finished in a deep, lustrous glaze that shifts from midnight teal to metallic charcoal. High-relief floral motifs, including stylized lilies in amethyst and saffron yellow amid lush foliage, emerge from the surface, embodying the organic forms characteristic of Art Nouveau.

The vase displays rich color and distinct relief work. Restorations are present on the handles, particularly where they attach to the vase body.
