An exceptional mid-to-late 20th-century table-top vanity mirror, this unmarked piece is masterfully clad in rich, hand-patinated sheet brass over a solid mahogany core, blending Neoclassical grandeur with Hollywood Regency sophistication. The substantial dressing mirror features architectural fluted support columns with cast beaded swag bases and decorative urn finials, framing a thick plate mirror with elegant wide-beveled glass. The rectangular swivel mirror rests atop an integrated plinth base accented by cast brass shell motifs at the corners, a drapery crest along the top rail, and a single central drawer with a drop-knob pull for fine jewelry and vanity essentials. Superior metal-smithing conceals all structural seams, creating a sleek, continuous metallic silhouette that bridges warm architectural wood with reflective brilliance. Unbranded and without maker's marks, it is in great vintage condition with light surface wear, subtle scratches, and natural tarnish to the metal consistent with age and gentle use.

Probable Provenance:

Handcrafted in the late 20th century, this piece reflects the high-end brass-clad decorative arts movement popularized by luxury American importers such as Maitland-Smith and Sarreid Ltd. While designed for the upscale US trade market, pieces of this era featuring hand-applied brass sheet cladding over mahogany and lost-wax cast hardware were typically crafted by skilled artisans in Spain, Italy, or the Philippines.
